WHAT IS THE ULTIMATE SPORTSMAN?
Semi-annually, Folded Hills hosts an epic event for their friends called “Ultimate Sportsman.” A group of forty long-time friends arrives by bus, eat breakfast and form into teams of six. The head referee and event coordinator, Tamara Jensen of Joy Full Events, explains the activities, rules, and scoring. Each team competes in golf, archery, skeet shooting, tug-o-war, obstacle course, basketball, kayaking, and Segway.
After seven hours of competing, the guys eat, relax and get ready for dinner. As the sun sets, another bus arrives, the competitor’s spouses. Everyone enjoys appetizers and wine together on the main lawn. Then, it is time for the trophy ceremony. Awards are given out for highest scores in each of the events, along with the infamous “honey badger” trophy, and “biggest weenie” award. But, there can only be one ultimate sportsman, an overall winner based on a complex algorithm that has gone through countless phases of refinement. Who will be Folded Hills next Ultimate Sportsman?
