Folded Hills Hollywood & Vines Holiday Movie Wine Pairing Guide

It’s always magical at Folded Hills, but Christmas at the ranch is the most magical time of the year. During the holiday season, it is the perfect place to unplug and get festive!

One of our favorite things to do over the holidays is cozy up in front of a huge fire, with a great glass of wine and a Christmas movie. We wanted to share some of our favorites, with a twist!

So here it it – our Folded Hills Hollywood & Vines Holiday Movie Wine Pairing Guide.

Enjoy!

Elf

This pairing was a no brainer since our Folded Hills 2017 Estate White happens to pair perfectly with spaghetti and syrup. Also because much like smiling, it’s our favorite.

Miracle on 34th Street

Miracle on 34th Street pairs perfectly with Folded Hills 2018 Lilly Rosé. Why? Because if you have a bottle left it’s a damn miracle! And we’re jealous.

Christmas Vacation

For this hysterical family fave, pair our Folded Hills 2017 “21″ Grenache. Named for Kim and Andy’s youngest son Nick, (looking good here at our holiday party as Cousin Eddie) “21” pairs perfectly with your over-cooked, dried out and deflated roast turkey! Hey, at least the wine will be delicious! And your friends and family will be the jolliest bunch of a**holes this side of the nut house.

Eight Crazy Nights

Eight Crazy Nights

Light the first candle at sunset with FH and Adam Sandler. Eight Crazy Nights is a great way to help celebrate the beginning of Hanukkah…and pair with our 2017 Ballard Canyon Roussanne-akkah. Pairs perfectly with Carnegie Deli and potato latkes.

Love Actually

Love Actually

One of our all time favorites, Love Actually pairs perfectly with another one of our favorites, Folded Hills 2018 Cluster Carbonic. Why? Because to us, this wine is perfect. And it’s a way better cluster than a love triangle.

Meet Me in St. Louis

Meet Me in St. Louis

Because St. Louis. You know…our hometown! Meet Me in St. Louis is a must see for all of us from the Show Me State. Pair our 2016 Grant Grenache with this wonderful confection of a movie. The wine is named for Grant’s Farm, a beloved St. Louis landmark and tourist attraction. Any of you out there have memories of Grant’s Farm? Do tell!

40 Year Old Virgin

40 Year Old Virgin

On Christmas Eve we watch The 40-Year-Old Virgin. This film is way too low brow for Folded Hills wine, but luckily it pairs beautifully with a nice cold 2019 Bud Light. $9 beer night, amiright? Yes, we know it’s not a Christmas movie, but it is one our favorite (adults only) family traditions now. Don’t ask. Ohhhh Kelly Clarkson!

Home Alone

Home Alone

Home Alone pairs beautifully with Folded Hills 2017 August White because it is perfect for a night in or out. It pairs so well with microwaved mac and cheese, or the over-the-top Plaza Hotel ice cream sundae. Merry Christmas ya filthy animals.

A Christmas Story

A Christmas Story

An all time classic, A Christmas Story should be paired with Folded Hills 2017 August Red. Why? Because it too is a classic, it has great legs, and unlike the Red Ryder BB gun, it won’t shoot your eye out.

and finally…

The Holiday

My personal fave…The Holiday is the best paired with Folded Hills 2017 Sparkling Lilly Rosé. This delicious (and gorgeous) sparkling rosé – also known as “Party Lilly” is the perfect date if you’re spending New Year’s Eve at home or celebrating with friends.

Cheers!
