EVERY FRIDAY OF EVERY MONTH!

Every Friday in October, join us for Folded Hills’ Philanthropy Fridays. We’ll be spotlighting Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Santa Barbara, and the amazing work they do. The winery is highlighting their mission in our tasting room, and the Kim and Andy Busch Family Foundation is making a grant to support their programs. We invite you to learn more and get involved.

The mission of CASA of Santa Barbara County is to assure a safe, permanent, nurturing home for all abused and/or neglected children by providing a highly trained volunteer to advocate for them in the court system. CASA volunteers see the potential in every child. Children who find themselves in the foster care system need a voice.

Philanthropy Fridays at Folded Hills donates to a different charity each month. So far this year, we have raised and donated over $150,000 and over 25,000 pounds of clothing, household supplies, and other necessities to Dream Center to aid Los Angeles fire victims.

For many of the children they serve, their CASA volunteer will be the one constant in an otherwise chaotic life. CASA volunteers show up, stand up, and speak up.

Once appointed to a child’s case, CASA Volunteers are trained to mentor. They work to build a trusting relationship with the child by consistently showing up for planned weekly in-person visits and activities.

They are trained to advocate. They stand up for the child within the courtroom, classroom, and community to ensure they receive the services and resources they need to thrive.

They are trained to report. They gather information, speak up, and submit written reports directly to the court to assist in making decisions in the best interest of the child.
