Once upon a time at Folded Hills Ranch…
Last year, our friends Taylor and Mark, along with 100 of their closest friends, gathered to celebrate one of the most joyous weddings we have ever been a part of. We want to wish them a very Happy Anniversary and remember their special day with photos and a guest post from Jess & James Fairchild and video from Like a Letter.
We felt like we were dreaming this entire day! We almost asked someone to pinch us, because we could not believe our eyes! We love when we get to hear the bride and groom’s vision for the wedding day so we can start to dream and envision the day alongside them. The second Taylor started to describe her wedding day, we were head over heels excited. Polo fields, Clydesdales, a lake with a rowboat, Restoration Hardware inspired decor, a ceremony overlooking Santa Ynez, oak trees with Spanish Moss, chandeliers and drapery…I mean, she had us at Clydesdales, and the more she told us the more our jaw dropped to the floor. We loved everything about Folded Hills because it is an incredible and dreamy venue. They were a joy to work with and we were in creative heaven everywhere we looked! And just wait till you see the cocktail overlooking the lake!
Beyond the location’s beauty, Mark and Taylor are an unforgettable couple. They are incredibly good looking, and they bring out the best in each other! And like all of our favorite couples, they are truly best friends and oh so madly in love. We caught ourselves watching their interactions and the way they love each other, and it made us swoon all day long.
The wedding day was perfect from start to finish! The girls started getting ready in the house by the reception barn, and the guys got ready in the pool house. The rooms were filled with music and laughter, and as soon as Taylor put her dress on her bridesmaids completely lost it and cried tears of joy when they saw their best friend as a bride! We love how the bridesmaids wore different shades or neutral colored dresses and looked like bombshells!
And their florals by FloraVida were absolutely stunning! As we headed up to the ceremony site for the first look, Taylor was beyond excited to see her man. And boy did he look good! When we lined them up for their first look and he turned around we got teary-eyed just watching them interact and share their excitement that “today is the day!” We had no problem at all finding gorgeous locations for portraits and bridal party photos, and then they hid for the ceremony as all their guest arrived on Jump On the School Busses. Their ceremony felt like a dream, filled with laughter and tears and family members whose love and excitement could be felt by all.
After their kiss, the guests headed over to the lake for cocktail hour (yes cocktail hour overlooked the lake and a rowboat) while Mark and Taylor got on the carriage led by the Clydesdales! As we were photographing their entrance into cocktail hour on the Clydesdales, Jess kept saying “I am just so happy right now” because we truly were smiling ear to ear and couldn’t believe our eyes! Because they did a first look they were able to mix and mingle with their guests, and then after their guests headed to the reception barn, they went out for a row around the lake and then they danced, and skipped and ran around the polo field into the sunset. Swoon worthy for sure!
Then we all headed over to their reception which looked like a Restoration Hardware living room! We felt right at home and wished we could just copy and paste it all into our home! The dinner by Omni Catering was phenomenal, and the speeches had us crying with joy as their friends and family shared wonderful stories. As soon as the dance floor opened, it was packed till the very last song! The fabulous band Stew & the Crew kept everyone on their feet, and even James couldn’t help but dance to a few songs once the saxophone made an appearance! It was a perfect celebration, impeccably coordinated by LK Events, and we are absolutely thrilled to share it with you!
